Sport Gloves and Specialist Gloves in CS2: every finish and where it drops

All 19 Sport Gloves and 19 Specialist Gloves in CS2: which glove set or terminal each pair comes from, what the in-game text says about the designs, and notes on wear.

Sport Gloves and Specialist Gloves are two of the six glove types from the original 2016 Glove Case, and with 19 finishes each they are second only to Driver Gloves. Both appear in every glove set Valve has released, and both got seven new pairs in March 2026. Here is every finish and where it comes from; for the basics of glove types and wear, see our gloves guide.

Where they come from

Gloves arrived with the Glove Case on November 28, 2016, which Valve announced with "24 all-new gloves" as its special items. Since then they have come in three sets of 24, each with four pairs of every regular type plus one fingerless studded type, and in one terminal:

Set 3Operation Broken Fang Case, Snakebite Case, Recoil Case44

The Counter-Strike Wiki lists the first three sets by case, and the game's item files confirm the later reruns: the Revolution Case points to the Clutch Case's glove list and the Recoil Case to Broken Fang's. The Dead Hand pairs come from the Dead Hand Terminal, which Valve added as a weekly drop on March 11, 2026 with "22 all-new gloves as rare special items". Our Dead Hand article explains how terminal offers work.

Sport Gloves

The in-game description is short: "Synthetic fabrics make these athletic gloves durable and eye-catching."

The game text describes the older pairs in some detail. Pandora's Box is black and purple with a subtle pattern printed on the palms, Superconductor is blue and black, and Arid uses several shades of brown with a subtle camo print. Hedge Maze is green and white, and its text credits a maker called Icarus Athletics. From the 2018 set, Vice mixes pink and blue technical fabrics, Omega is black with strong yellow accents, and Amphibious (blue and white) and Bronze Morph (red and green) are both called quick drying and breathable. The Set 3 and Dead Hand pairs carry only the general Sport Gloves description.

Specialist Gloves

Valve's description reads: "Durable, breathable, and stylish; these gloves are designed to take (and give) a beating." The Counter-Strike Wiki says they appear to be based on Mechanix M-Pact gloves and carry the word "TORTUE" on the back of the hand. Tortue is a glove maker in the game's item text: the Moto Gloves | Eclipse description calls its black design the one "that made Tortue a household name", and the Foundation flavour text jokes that Tortue was inspired by the Asiimov line of firearms.

From the in-game text, Crimson Kimono is black with a stark red diamond pattern, Emerald Web has a spiderweb pattern on the back, Foundation is white and black with orange accents, and Forest DDPAT pairs hand-stitched leather with DDPAT-printed fabric. In the 2018 set, Crimson Web is red and grey with a rubberized web print, Fade is "multicolored" with metallic accents, Mogul would be at home on a ski hill and Buckshot in a hunting blind.

Specialist Gloves are the only glove type with Fade, Marble Fade or Crimson Web. The names echo knife finishes, but the gloves don't behave like the knife versions: our fade guide notes that the open-source fade percentage calculator leaves gloves out, because glove patterns shift less predictably.

Wear notes

Every pair of both types, including the 2026 Dead Hand gloves, has the same float range in the game files: 0.06 to 0.80. That leaves Factory New a window from 0.06 to 0.07, and no pair can be close to 0.00. Battle-Scarred covers everything from 0.45 to 0.80, so two Battle-Scarred pairs can look very different. Our float guide explains the tiers.

Gloves are also seen more than they used to be. Since an October 1, 2025 update, the in-game loadout of a player you spectate shows the wear and pattern of their gloves. An October 2, 2026 update put your equipped gloves on your agent in the photobooth and the buy menu as well.

A few practical points:

  • Judge the exact pair. Look at it in first person, the way you will see it in matches, rather than relying on the wear name.
  • Compare floats within a tier. A 0.16 and a 0.37 pair are both Field-Tested.
  • No StatTrak. Gloves have no StatTrak versions, so there is nothing to choose there.

Getting a pair now

Besides opening the cases above or accepting a Dead Hand Terminal offer, you can use a trade-up contract. Valve's October 2025 rules let "5 regular Covert items" be exchanged for "one regular Knife item or one regular Gloves item from a collection of one of the items provided". Coverts from a glove case lead to that case's glove set, and Dead Hand Coverts to the Dead Hand pairs. StatTrak Coverts only return StatTrak knives, never gloves. Our Covert trade-up article covers the details.

On CS2Sell, the float range filter on Buy lets you look only at pairs near the clean end of their wear tier.
