Valve's item files list 216 finishes for Counter-Strike 2's four shotguns and two machine guns, but only one of them is Covert: the Sawed-Off | The Kraken. Thirteen more are Classified, and the M249 has never had anything above Restricted. This guide goes gun by gun through the notable skins: where each came from, its float window, and whether StatTrak or Souvenir copies exist.
The six guns at a glance
| Gun | Side | Finishes | Covert and Classified finishes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nova | Both | 47 | Antique, Bloomstick, Hyper Beast |
| XM1014 | Both | 45 | Tranquility, Incinegator, Entombed, XOXO |
| MAG-7 | CT | 37 | Cinquedea, Justice |
| Sawed-Off | T | 36 | The Kraken (Covert), Wasteland Princess, Devourer, Kiss♥Love |
| M249 | Both | 26 | None |
| Negev | Both | 25 | Mjölnir |
Grades run from Consumer up through Industrial, Mil-Spec, Restricted and Classified to Covert. A float window is the wear range a finish can roll. Each exterior is a fixed float band, with Factory New ending at 0.07, so a narrow window rules out whole exteriors. Prices, damage and shotgun kill rewards are in the weapon stats guide.
Sawed-Off skins
The Kraken, "hand painted with an image of an octopus", came in the Winter Offensive Weapon Case of December 18, 2013, Valve's first case of community-made designs. Its window stops at 0.40, so there is no Battle-Scarred. The case's other Covert is the M4A4 | Asiimov; the Winter Offensive article covers the rest.
The Kraken also has a use no other finish here has. A trade-up contract exchanges skins of one grade for one of the next, and since October 22, 2025 five Coverts can be traded for a knife or gloves from one of the inputs' collections.
The three Classifieds are Sawed-Off | Wasteland Princess (Glove Case, November 2016), whose description says someone "has been keeping track of kills on the barrel"; Sawed-Off | Devourer (Horizon Case, August 2018), a creature eating its words; and Sawed-Off | Kiss♥Love (Recoil Case, July 2022), a starry-eyed woman in pink and purple.
Two Mil-Specs have odd windows. Sawed-Off | Fubar (Chroma 3 Case), with tick marks carved into the barrel, starts at 0.40, so it only comes Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred. Sawed-Off | Brake Light (2018 Inferno Collection) stops at 0.08, so it only comes Factory New or Minimal Wear.
Nova skins
Nova | Antique (Operation Phoenix Weapon Case, February 2014) combines hydrographics and dry-transfer decals "to create the look of a wood stock and gold inlay" and stops at 0.30, so it has no Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred. Nova | Bloomstick (eSports 2014 Summer Case, July 2014) is airbrushed by hand with cherry blossoms. Nova | Hyper Beast (Operation Wildfire Case, February 2016) shows a beastly creature in psychedelic colours.
The Restricted Nova | Graphite (CS:GO Weapon Case 2), metallic polygons over chrome, is capped at 0.12, so it only comes Factory New or Minimal Wear. Nova | Sobek's Bite from the Anubis Collection was in the Anubis Souvenir Packages of Paris 2023, Copenhagen 2024, Shanghai 2024 and Austin 2025.
XM1014 skins
The XM1014 has the most Classifieds, four. XM1014 | Tranquility (Operation Vanguard Weapon Case, November 2014) is hand painted with a woman with long hair. XM1014 | Incinegator (Prisma Case, March 2019), "a gator spitting fire", starts at 0.14, so it has no Factory New. XM1014 | Entombed (Fracture Case, August 2020) has blue wraps and Egyptian accents, and XM1014 | XOXO (Snakebite Case, May 2021) a punk-inspired pattern.
XM1014 | Zombie Offensive, a Restricted of zombified Counter-Strike agents, was a winner of Valve's 2021 Dreams & Nightmares Workshop contest, which paid $100,000 per winning entry. The Dreams & Nightmares Case (January 2022) holds all 17 winners, including the MAG-7 | Foresight, an octopus predicting a match, and the Sawed-Off | Spirit Board.
The Restricted XM1014 | Elegant Vines (2021 Mirage Collection) and XM1014 | Ancient Lore (Ancient Collection) have Souvenirs from the eight Majors between Stockholm 2021 and Budapest 2025. XM1014 | Solitude came from the Armory: Valve added it as a Limited Edition Item on March 31, 2025, saying its "mountainous pattern comes in a wide range of variations", and swapped in the M4A1-S | Solitude on August 14, 2025.
MAG-7 skins
Both Classified MAG-7s use the full 0.00 to 1.00 range. MAG-7 | Cinquedea comes from the Canals Collection, added with Operation Shattered Web in November 2019, and Valve credited the collection's designs to Teo~. Its flavour text reads "Whatever you paid for this, it wasn't enough". MAG-7 | Justice (Prisma 2 Case, March 2020) takes the Justice tarot card as its inspiration.
MAG-7 | Bulldozer, a Restricted in production-line yellow from the Mirage Collection, was in the Mirage Souvenir Packages of all 13 Majors from ESL One Cologne 2014 to Berlin 2019. MAG-7 | Core Breach (2018 Nuke Collection) was in Nuke packages from London 2018 to Budapest 2025.
M249 and Negev skins
The M249's best finishes are four Restricteds: M249 | Nebula Crusader (Shadow Case, 2015), styled like a classic arcade cabinet; M249 | Emerald Poison Dart (Spectrum Case, 2017), inspired by a poison dart frog; M249 | Aztec (CS20 Case, 2019), rusted and covered in moss; and M249 | Downtown (Recoil Case, 2022), blue and pink arrows with the flavour text "A different kind of spray pattern".
The Negev's one Classified is Negev | Mjölnir, painted red with Norse runes, from the Norse Collection, whose designs Valve credited to The Honey Badger. The collection's only Covert is the AWP | Gungnir, so a ten-skin contract of Mjölnirs can only produce a Gungnir, as the Norse Collection article explains.
Restricted Negevs include Negev | Power Loader (Revolver Case), which resembles heavy machinery; Negev | Loudmouth (Falchion Case), which starts at 0.14 and so has no Factory New; and Negev | dev_texture (Snakebite Case), grey developer textures over orange with the flavour text "hammer.exe time". Negev | Man-o'-war (Chroma 2 Case) runs only from 0.10 to 0.20, so it comes Minimal Wear or Field-Tested.
StatTrak and Souvenir versions
StatTrak copies, which count kills, exist only for weapon case finishes, so map and themed collections have none: no StatTrak Cinquedea, Mjölnir, Bulldozer or any other collection finish above.
No Classified or Covert finish on these guns ever came in a Souvenir package: all 14 are from cases or operation collections. Package Souvenirs topped out at Restricted, with seven finishes at that grade: three MAG-7s (Bulldozer, Core Breach and MAG-7 | Prism Terrace), three XM1014s (Elegant Vines, Ancient Lore and XM1014 | Monster Melt) and one Nova, Sobek's Bite.
For IEM Cologne 2026, Valve added the Souvenir-O-Matic, which turned a normal or Souvenir quality weapon into a Souvenir with gold team, autograph and map stickers from a completed match. StatTrak skins weren't eligible, so a Souvenir Kraken would have to start as a normal copy. The StatTrak vs Souvenir guide covers both in depth.
Several of these finishes skip whole exteriors, so check the float window first. On CS2Sell, Buy filters by weapon, float range, StatTrak and Souvenir.
