Skeleton, Nomad, Survival and Paracord: the Shattered Web knives in CS2

The four knives from Operation Shattered Web in 2019: the Shattered Web, Fracture and Fever cases, their 19 finishes, the 2025 Chroma additions and each knife's animations.

Operation Shattered Web brought four knife models in November 2019: the Skeleton, Nomad, Survival and Paracord. They stayed in original finishes for more than five years, until the 2025 Fever Case gave them the Chroma set. This guide covers where they drop, how each one looks and moves, and the finish details worth checking.

The Shattered Web Case launched with the operation, and the Fracture Case brought the same four knives back less than a year later. In the game's item files, both cases point to one knife list, so their knives are identical.

The Fever Case is different in how you get it. Valve added it to the Armory, describing it as "featuring 17 weapon finishes from community contributors and Shattered Web knives in Chroma finishes". You redeem it in the Armory rather than receiving it as a weekly drop, and opening it still takes a Fever Case Key. Our Fever Case article covers its weapon skins.

Trade-ups follow the same lines. Under the rules Valve added in October 2025, Coverts from the Shattered Web Case (AWP | Containment Breach, MAC-10 | Stalker) and Fracture Case (Desert Eagle | Printstream, AK-47 | Legion of Anubis) lead to the original finishes, while the Fever Case's AWP | Printstream and FAMAS | Bad Trip lead to the Chroma knives. Our Covert trade-up article explains the rules.

The four models

Skeleton Knife

Valve describes a "skeletonized-tang knife" taped at the handle for grip, with a hole that "allows a finger to be threaded through for stability and safety". The Counter-Strike Wiki says it is modelled on the HX Outdoors Q-03 diving knife.

It also has the most playful animations of the four. The wiki says there is a 50/50 chance the draw twirls the knife around your hand. Its rare inspect threads a finger through the gap and spins the knife for as long as you hold the inspect key. Hotspawn singles out that spinning inspect as a reason to like the model.

Nomad Knife

An "ergonomic tactical hunting lock-blade knife", in Valve's words, with composite handle inserts and a broad, sturdy blade. The game files call it weapon_knife_outdoor. Hotspawn's favourite detail is a rare inspect that flicks the blade between your fingers.

Survival Knife

A multi-purpose tactical knife with a serrated edge, a gutting hook and a composite handle bolted to the blade with hex nuts. Its internal name is weapon_knife_canis. Hotspawn finds that the animations make it feel heavier than it looks, though it credits the knife with a slick draw.

Paracord Knife

A fixed-blade survival knife meant to work as both weapon and tool, with the handle wrapped in a length of paracord. Internally it is weapon_knife_cord. According to Hotspawn it has two different inspects, and neither is shared with any other knife.

Valve has tuned the group in CS2. A September 8, 2025 update fixed viewmodel animations for the Nomad, Paracord and Skeleton, along with the Bowie, Bayonet and Kukri.

The 19 finishes

All four models share one set:

  • Original (Shattered Web and Fracture): vanilla, Blue Steel, Boreal Forest, Case Hardened, Crimson Web, Fade, Forest DDPAT, Night Stripe, Safari Mesh, Scorched, Slaughter, Stained, Urban Masked.
  • Chroma (Fever): Damascus Steel, Doppler, Marble Fade, Rust Coat, Tiger Tooth, Ultraviolet.

Every finish comes in StatTrak. Like the Horizon knives from 2018, these models use Night Stripe in place of the older Night finish and have no Gamma finishes, so there is no Gamma Doppler, Lore, Autotronic, Black Laminate, Bright Water or Freehand on any of them. Our Horizon knives guide covers that earlier group.

Finish details

Float windows. The game's item definitions give these ranges:

FinishFloat rangeWears that exist

Slaughter0.01 to 0.26Factory New to Field-Tested
Damascus Steel0.00 to 0.50All five
Rust Coat0.40 to 1.00Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred
Night Stripe, Crimson Web, Ultraviolet and the camos0.06 to 0.80All five
Case Hardened, Blue Steel, Stained0.00 to 1.00All five

Doppler phases. Fever Case Dopplers come in phases like every other knife Doppler, and the item name never tells you which one. Our Doppler phases guide shows how to confirm a phase before you trade.

No Fire & Ice. When the Fever Case arrived, the author of the Steam Community's long-running Fire & Ice guide updated it to say none of these four knives appears able to form a Fire & Ice Marble Fade. That layout stays limited to the Karambit, Bayonet, Flip and Gut.

Case Hardened and Fade. As on every knife, the paint seed moves the pattern, and a seed that is strong on one model says nothing about another. Our guides to blue gems and fade percentage cover both finishes.

Before you buy

  • Check the source. An original-finish Shattered Web knife can come from two cases, but a Chroma one only from the Fever Case or a Fever trade-up.
  • Read the float against the range. A Field-Tested Slaughter can only sit between 0.15 and 0.26, while a Field-Tested Case Hardened covers 0.15 to 0.38.
  • Confirm phase and seed in game. The information panel shows the Finish Catalog number and the Pattern Template.

On CS2Sell, Buy lets you pick a model and filter by Doppler phase, fade percentage, paint seed and float.
