Inferno callouts are the names players use for the map's narrow streets and small rooms, from Banana to Pit. CS2's Inferno is a visual overhaul of the CS:GO map with the same layout, so the classic names still work, but Valve has since widened Banana, extended A's Balcony and closed Graveyard. Below are the Inferno callouts in CS2 by area, the in-game names where they differ, and what changed.
T side and Mid callouts
From T Spawn, T Ramp leads up to Banana and Mid, while the T-side apartments lead to Second Mid and the CT Apartments.
| Callout | Where it is |
|---|---|
| T Spawn | Where Terrorists start the round |
| T Ramp | Ramp out of T Spawn towards Banana and Mid, often just Ramp |
| Mid | The middle lane from T Ramp to the CT side |
| Bottom Mid | The T end of Mid, where Underpass comes up |
| Top Mid | The CT end of Mid, running from the Arch side to the Short side |
| Underpass | Low tunnel between Second Mid and Mid |
| Second Mid | A second lane parallel to Mid, also called Alt Mid |
| Living Room | Upstairs room on the T side, just before Ramp |
| Balcony | Small T-side balcony over Second Mid, facing Window; some say Mid Balcony |
| Bridge | Walkway over the T end of Second Mid, facing Window |
| Back Alley | Alley from the T apartments to the CT Apartments |
| Window | Room in the CT Apartments overlooking Second Mid |
Inferno A site callouts
Terrorists reach A through the CT Apartments, which open onto Balcony, or along Short from Top Mid. CTs arrive from their spawn through Arch and Library.
| Callout | Where it is |
|---|---|
| Apps | The CT Apartments, a corridor from Second Mid to A's Balcony |
| Boiler | Room at the bottom of the Apps stairs, leading out to Short |
| Short | The way onto A between Top Mid and the site |
| Patio | Sheltered spot on Short that players boost onto |
| Balcony | Balcony at the Apps exit, above Pit |
| Pit | Sunken area in the corner of A, reaching under Balcony |
| A Site | The bombsite |
| Moto | Spot at the Long end of A site |
| Graveyard | Raised area at the back of A, closed since March 2026 |
| Long | The way onto A from the CT side, through Arch |
| Arch | Archway between CT Spawn and Long |
| Library | Building between CT Spawn and A |
| CT Spawn | Where Counter-Terrorists start, between the two sites |
CS2 Inferno callouts on Banana and B
Banana is the long, open lane from T Ramp up to B site. Its top end, by Car and Sandbags, is the CT side.
| Callout | Where it is |
|---|---|
| Banana | Long lane from T Ramp up to B site |
| Logs | Cubby partway up Banana |
| Sandbags | Sandbags near the top of Banana |
| Car | Top of Banana on the CT side, now a set of barrels |
| B Site | The bombsite, with Fountain in the middle |
| 1st and 2nd | Gaps between the box stacks on the left of B as you come from Banana |
| Dark | Corner at the back of B |
| Coffins | Raised spot at the back of B facing Banana |
| Church | Church between B and CT Spawn |
| Garden | Open ground between Church and the site |
| CT Boost | Boost spot near CT that sees over a smoke |
Hotspawn also uses Quad for the tall scaffolding at the back of B. That isn't the in-game Quad, which is on the A side.

How the callouts compare with the in-game names
CS2 shows the name of the area you stand in under the radar and in team chat, as our Mirage callouts guide explains. Inferno's map file in the build of October 22, 2026 has 23 of these areas. Many match the callouts: Banana, Arch, Library, Pit, Balcony, Underpass, Second Mid, Bridge, Back Alley, T Ramp and Top of Mid. These differ:
| Callout | In-game name |
|---|---|
| T Spawn, CT Spawn | T Start, CT Start |
| Mid and Bottom Mid | Middle |
| Church | Ruins |
| Patio on Short | Quad |
| T-side Balcony | Deck |
| Apps and the T apartments | Apartments, for both |
| A Site, B Site | Bombsite A, Bombsite B |
Two names clash. The in-game Kitchen is a T-side room next to Bridge, while the Counter-Strike Wiki's Kitchen is a room by Library. The in-game Quad is the Patio area on Short; Valve's own October 2025 notes mention "adjustments to top of Quad and under Balcony". The radar also names Upstairs, by Living Room, and Lower Mid, the area just outside T Spawn towards T Ramp and Second Mid. Smaller spots such as Car, Logs, Coffins, Fountain, Boiler and Graveyard have no in-game name of their own.
Valve's official map guide for Inferno labels its seven smoke line-ups A Site Moto, Banana, Banana Half-Wall, CT Boost, Coffins, Left Top Mid and Mid.
Inferno changes in CS2
Valve's notes since the map came to CS2 in August 2023 include several layout changes that affect where fights happen:
- April 25, 2024: Valve "removed overhanging building at top mid" and the overhangs at the bottom of Banana, covered in our April 2024 update article.
- March 31, 2025: Banana was adjusted "to more closely match the size of the CS:GO version", part of the spring cleaning that also simplified the view into Pit.
- July 28, 2025: the Church windows above Coffins were opened, the Church garden path was reshaped and the curbs along Mid were removed.
- October 22, 2025: visibility changes at the top of Quad and under Balcony.
- March 4, 2026: A's Balcony was extended and Graveyard was "closed to the public", as our March 2026 update article notes.
Older guides that still list Graveyard as a hiding spot predate that last change. If you learned Inferno in CS:GO, the main difference you will notice is space: Banana and Top Mid are more open than at CS2's launch.
