Mirage callouts are the short names players use for every corner of the map, from Palace on A site to Bench on B. The layout barely changed from CS:GO, so the CS2 Mirage callouts below are the ones players have used for years. They are grouped by area, with the name CS2 itself shows wherever it differs.
T side callouts
Terrorists leave spawn two ways: Palace Alley towards A, and Side Alley towards Top Mid and, through House, the B Apartments.
| Callout | Where it is |
|---|---|
| T Spawn | Where Terrorists start the round |
| Palace Alley | Alley from T Spawn to Palace and T Ramp |
| T Ramp | The main T entrance to A, also called A Ramp or Ramp |
| Palace | Building beside T Ramp, a second way onto A |
| Side Alley | Alley from T Spawn to Top Mid |
| House | Building on the T route to B, past Side Alley |
| Back Alley | Passage from House to the B Apartments, by the way into Underpass |
Mid callouts
Mid is the long open lane between the two sites. Whoever controls it can reach A through Connector or B through Short, so both teams fight hard over it with grenades.
| Callout | Where it is |
|---|---|
| Top Mid | The T end of Mid, where Side Alley comes in |
| Mid Boxes | Box stack at Top Mid that Ts use as cover |
| Mid | The open middle of the map, overlooked by Window |
| Window | Raised CT window over the whole of Mid |
| Catwalk | Raised walkway from Mid towards Short |
| Short | The way onto B site where Catwalk ends, also B Short or Cat |
| Underpass | Tunnel from the Apartments side to the bottom of Mid |
| Ladder Room | Small room between Short and Window |
| Vent | Breakable opening that lets CTs reach Window from the CT Spawn side |
Mirage A site callouts
A site has three T entrances, T Ramp, Palace and Connector, and plenty of cover for defenders.
| Callout | Where it is |
|---|---|
| A Site | The bombsite; Default is the box stack at the usual plant spot |
| Sandwich | Small hiding spot beside Stairs |
| Stairs | Steps on A in front of Connector |
| Firebox | Boxes along the back of A, a common hiding spot |
| Triple | Three stacked boxes that CTs hold A from |
| Balcony | Scaffolding just outside Palace, above the site |
| Connector | Short tunnel and stairs from Mid to A |
| Jungle | Open area between Window and A site, next to Connector |
| CT | The CT entrance onto A, by Ticket Booth |
| Ticket Booth | Booth at CT, a common AWP spot, often just Ticket |
| CT Spawn | Where Counter-Terrorists start; one path leads to A, the other through Market to B |
B site callouts
Terrorists reach B through the long, narrow B Apartments or from Mid through Short. CTs come in through Market.
| Callout | Where it is |
|---|---|
| B Apartments | Corridor from the T side onto B, usually shortened to Apps |
| Van | Van facing the Apartments exit, which Ts have to clear first |
| B Site | The bombsite; Default is the usual plant spot |
| Boost Boxes | Boxes on B that players boost each other onto |
| Bench | Small piece of cover at the back of B |
| Arches | Arches between Short and the site |
| Market | Shop between CT Spawn and B |
| Market Window | Window from Market onto B, with breakable shutters |
| Market Door | Doorway from Market onto the site |
Guides disagree about Kitchen. Some put it at the end of the Apartments, others use it for a CT position on B. If your team uses the name, agree which room it means.

How CS2 map callouts differ from the in-game names
Callouts are a player invention, but CS2 also has its own names for areas, set in each map's files. The game shows the area you are standing in just below the radar, and team chat adds it after a player's name. Mirage's map file in the build of October 22, 2026 defines 23 of them.
Many match the callouts: Palace Alley, Side Alley, House, Back Alley, Underpass, Catwalk, Connector, Jungle, Stairs and T Ramp. These don't:
| Callout | In-game name |
|---|---|
| T Spawn, CT Spawn | T Start, CT Start |
| Mid, Top Mid | Middle, Top of Mid |
| Window | Sniper's Nest |
| Ladder Room | Ladder |
| Palace | Palace Interior |
| Balcony | Scaffolding |
| B Apartments | Apartments |
| Van | Truck |
| Market | Shop |
| A Site, B Site | Bombsite A, Bombsite B |
Small spots such as Firebox, Ticket Booth, Short and Bench have no in-game name of their own. CS:GO's Mirage had a few more: a 2021 CS:GO demo, read with the demoinfocs parser, listed Ticket Booth and Balcony among its places. CS2's map file has neither. Other maps have odder pairs, such as Hole for B Window in our Dust 2 callouts guide.
Valve's own staff use the community names too. During the 2023 limited test its notes "added back jump onto firebox in A site" and blocked a gap "by ticket booth". Its official map guide for Mirage labels six smoke line-ups Window, Connector, Cat, CT, T Ramp and Apts, and the Retakes setup file marks spawns such as "market", "short/cat" and "triple". Our map guides article explains how to load a guide in a match, and our CS2 smokes guide covers how those smokes behave.
Mirage changes in CS2
CS2's Mirage keeps the CS:GO layout, which is why its callouts carried over. Valve's update notes for the map since 2023 are almost all collision, gap and wallbang fixes, and none renamed or removed an area. Two of them touched spots you call out:
- On November 30, 2023, Valve "adjusted bombsite A size and added visual boundaries" and fixed clipping "on van at Truck".
- On September 22, 2026, it "reinforced scaffolding by balcony in A site".
Mirage has also stayed in the Active Duty pool since 2014, as our map pool history shows. To learn the names, walk the routes above with the radar open and watch the area name under it change as you cross from one zone to the next.
