CS2 Warhammer 40,000 capsules (May 2025): Adeptus Astartes, Traitor Astartes, Imperium, Xenos

On May 22, 2025 Valve and Games Workshop released four Warhammer 40,000 sticker capsules with 18 High Grade stickers each. All 72 stickers by capsule, plus the 2020 original.

On May 22, 2025, Valve released four Warhammer 40,000 sticker capsules in Counter-Strike 2: Adeptus Astartes, Traitor Astartes, Imperium and Xenos. They came out of a partnership with Games Workshop for its Warhammer Skulls 2025 event, and Valve announced them at the end of its "BLAST.TV Austin Major 2025" post. Each capsule holds 18 stickers, 72 in all, and every one of them is High Grade.

What was released

Valve's post explained the partnership in one sentence: "We've partnered with Games Workshop to celebrate the Warhammer Skulls 2025 event by releasing four Warhammer 40,000-themed sticker capsules." It added that the designs are themed after "Warhammer 40,000 decal sheets".

Traitor Astartes18All High GradeNine factions, two designs each
Imperium18All High Grade13 names from the Imperium, five of them as pairs
Xenos18All High GradeNine factions, two designs each

There are no holo, foil, glitter or lenticular versions. The Steam Community Market listing for each capsule shows the same 18 stickers, all in the High Grade tier, and Valve's item descriptions of all four say they were "released in May 2025".

Warhammer Skulls 2025

Warhammer Skulls is Games Workshop's yearly festival of Warhammer video games. The Warhammer Community site announced on May 13, 2025 that the event was "back for its ninth year", starting with an announcement stream on Thursday, May 22, followed by a week of sales, freebies and DLC across platforms including Steam. Valve's post with the capsules went up later the same day, US time. Games Workshop's announcement itself doesn't mention Counter-Strike.

All 72 stickers by capsule

Names are shown without the "Sticker |" prefix that every sticker carries in your inventory and on the Market, so Ultramarines appears there as Sticker | Ultramarines.

Adeptus Astartes

  • High Grade, 18: Adeptus Astartes, Astartes Skull, Blood Angels, Blood Ravens, Crimson Fists, Dark Angels, Flesh Tearers, Imperial Fists, Iron Halo, Iron Hands, Raptors, Raven Guard, Salamanders, Scythes of the Emperor, Silver Skulls, Space Wolves, Ultramarines, White Scars

This is the only one of the four capsules with no numbered pairs: each of its 18 names is a single design.

Traitor Astartes

  • High Grade, 18: Alpha Legion 1, Alpha Legion 2, Black Legion 1, Black Legion 2, Death Guard 1, Death Guard 2, Emperor's Children 1, Emperor's Children 2, Iron Warriors 1, Iron Warriors 2, Night Lords 1, Night Lords 2, Thousand Sons 1, Thousand Sons 2, Word Bearers 1, Word Bearers 2, World Eaters 1, World Eaters 2

Every faction here comes as a pair numbered 1 and 2, so a craft built around one faction can use two different designs.

Imperium

  • High Grade, 18: Adeptus Arbites, Adeptus Custodes 1, Adeptus Custodes 2, Adeptus Mechanicus 1, Adeptus Mechanicus 2, Adeptus Titanicus 1, Adeptus Titanicus 2, Astra Militarum 1, Astra Militarum 2, Cadia, Catachan, Ecclesiarchy, Imperial Knights, Inquisition, Officio Assassinorum, Rogue Trader, Sisters of Battle 1, Sisters of Battle 2

The Imperium capsule mixes the two styles: five numbered pairs (Adeptus Custodes, Adeptus Mechanicus, Adeptus Titanicus, Astra Militarum and Sisters of Battle) and eight single designs.

Xenos

  • High Grade, 18: Aeldari 1, Aeldari 2, Drukhari 1, Drukhari 2, Genestealer Cults 1, Genestealer Cults 2, Harlequins 1, Harlequins 2, Leagues of Votann 1, Leagues of Votann 2, Necron Ankh, Necron Glyphs, Orks 1, Orks 2, T'au Empire 1, T'au Empire 2, Tyranids 1, Tyranids 2

The Necrons are the one faction whose two designs have names instead of numbers.

The 2020 Warhammer 40,000 capsule

These weren't the first Warhammer stickers in Counter-Strike. On May 27, 2020, Valve released the Warhammer 40,000 Sticker Capsule in CS:GO in a post titled "Hammer Time", "featuring 17 unique stickers from across the 40K universe". That capsule carried over to CS2 with the rest of the CS:GO inventory, and it has a different structure from the 2025 set:

  • Exotic (foil), 3: Bloodthirster, Chaos Marine, Emperor
  • Remarkable (holo), 4: Heresy, Lord of Skulls, Space Marine, Tyranids Hive Tyrant
  • High Grade (paper), 10: Adepta Sororitas, Aeldari Avatar, Full Buy, Heresy, Necron, Ork Waaagh!, Primaris Keychain, Repulsor, Space Marine, Tyranids Ravener

So the 2020 capsule spread 17 stickers across three rarities, while the 2025 set has 72 stickers in a single rarity. None of the 2025 names repeats a 2020 name exactly; Necron and Necron Ankh, for example, are different stickers. The Counter-Strike Wiki lists the same 17 stickers for the 2020 capsule.

Using the stickers

The Warhammer stickers follow the same rules as every other sticker. Since February 2024 you can place up to five anywhere on a gun at any rotation, and since October 2024 you pick a scrape level when you apply one, after which it can only get more worn. Stickers you receive in a trade have been trade protected for seven days since July 2025, so they can't be applied during that week. Since November 2025 you can also seal any sticker in a Sticker Slab and hang it as a charm instead of using it up (Sticker Slab article).

Our stickers guide explains placement and scraping in more detail, and you can browse the stickers on Buy.

The Austin Major items in the same post

The same Valve post opened the BLAST.TV Austin Major 2025 Viewer Pass and Pick'Em and released the Austin team and player stickers. Our Austin Major article covers those.

Where it stands now

Valve's release notes up to October 2026 haven't mentioned the four capsules again: no change to their contents and no announcement about sales ending. The previous update covered here is Mission Possible, with weekly missions and five community maps, on May 7, 2025; the next is Premier Season Three and trade protection on July 15.
