Snakebite Case (2021): the Broken Fang gloves, every skin and its drop status

The Snakebite Case arrived on May 3, 2021, the day Operation Broken Fang ended. All 17 skins by rarity, the 24 Broken Fang gloves it shares with two other cases, float caps and its status in 2026.

The Snakebite Case came out on May 3, 2021, the day Operation Broken Fang ended, and it took the operation's gloves with it. Its rare special items are the 24 Broken Fang gloves, while its 17 community skins include the USP-S | The Traitor and the M4A4 | In Living Color. It was the second of three cases to share that glove set.

Released as Broken Fang wrapped up

Valve's post that day, "The End of Broken Fang", was mostly about what would outlive the operation. Players with unspent stars had until May 15 to use them. Premier Competitive stayed in the game, and players who wanted to keep their detailed Competitive and Wingman stats could now subscribe to CS:GO 360 Stats for $0.99 a month.

The update also reshaped the Active Duty map pool: Train left and Ancient took its place. Retakes moved into Wargames, the community maps Mocha and Grind joined Competitive Scrimmage, and Calavera and Pitstop arrived in Wingman. The case itself came last, under a heading that played on the snake theme, "New Weapon Cassssse". Valve said it featured 17 community-designed finishes and "the Broken Fang set of gloves as rare special items".

Contents by rarity

The Counter-Strike Wiki and the game's item data agree on all 17 skins.

All 17 gun skins can come as StatTrak. The gloves cannot: gloves have never had StatTrak versions, so every pair from the case is a normal item.

The Broken Fang gloves

The set first appeared in December 2020 in the Operation Broken Fang Case. The Snakebite Case reused it unchanged, and the Recoil Case did the same in 2022, so the same 24 pairs come out of three different cases.

Glove typeFinishes
Broken Fang GlovesJade, Needle Point, Unhinged, Yellow-banded
Driver GlovesBlack Tie, Queen Jaguar, Rezan the Red, Snow Leopard
Hand WrapsConstrictor, Desert Shamagh, Giraffe, CAUTION (written with an exclamation mark in game)
Moto Gloves3rd Commando Company, Blood Pressure, Finish Line, Smoke Out
Specialist GlovesField Agent, Lt. Commander, Marble Fade, Tiger Strike
Sport GlovesBig Game, Nocts, Scarlet Shamagh, Slingshot

The Broken Fang Gloves themselves are a type that only exists in this set, which is why they have just four finishes. Like all gloves, every pair has a float between 0.06 and 0.80, so Factory New is a very narrow window from 0.06 to 0.07, and there is no plain glove without a finish. Our gloves guide covers glove types and wear in detail.

Standout skins

USP-S | The Traitor and M4A4 | In Living Color. The two Coverts both went to CT-side weapons. The Traitor uses the full float range from 0.00 to 1.00, while In Living Color is capped at 0.79.

Galil AR | Chromatic Aberration. The Classified Galil shares its name with the AWP | Chromatic Aberration, which became one of the two Coverts in the Recoil Case a year later. The tier is completed by the MP9 | Food Chain and the XM1014 | XOXO.

The Restricted tier. This is where the case put its AK-47, the Slate. The Desert Eagle | Trigger Discipline has an unusual float cap of 0.97, so it never reaches the very worst end of Battle-Scarred.

Low caps further down. The Nova | Windblown and UMP-45 | Oscillator both stop at 0.50, so their Battle-Scarred copies sit between 0.45 and 0.50. The Negev | dev_texture is capped at 0.65 and the M249 | O.S.I.P.R. at 0.70, while the P250 | Cyber Shell runs to 0.85. Our float guide explains where each wear tier begins.

Where the Snakebite Case stands in 2026

The case no longer drops. By January 2026, Techaeris counted five containers in the weekly pool, and the Snakebite Case was not among them. Older cases used to keep trickling out through a rare drop pool, but Hotspawn reported that this pool went silent in December 2025, with no statement from Valve. Drop trackers still listed the case as discontinued in October 2026.

The gloves are a different story. Because the Recoil Case carried the same set until it, too, left the active pool in March 2026, the Snakebite Case was never the only source. And since October 22, 2025, Valve's trade-up contract lets five regular Covert skins be exchanged for a knife or gloves "from a collection of one of the items provided", which our Covert trade-up article explains. If you are after a specific pair rather than a case, the wear and float range filters on Buy help you find one near the clean end of its tier.
