Glove Case (November 2016): the first CS:GO gloves, every pair and the guns

The Glove Case brought the first 24 gloves in November 2016. The six glove types and every finish, the 17 guns by grade, glove floats, why there are no StatTrak gloves, and its status in CS2.

Until November 2016, the gold-tier item in every Counter-Strike case was a knife. The Glove Case changed that: its rare special items were 24 pairs of gloves, the first glove skins in the game. Here is every pair it can drop, the guns that come with them, how glove wear works and where the case stands in CS2 as of October 2026.

A case without knives

Valve introduced the Glove Case on November 28, 2016, in an update called "Brothers In Arms", with 17 community-designed weapon finishes. The post said that unlike previous cases, its possible special items were "24 all-new gloves". The same update added the Radicals Box of StatTrak music kits and Steam Group Lobbies, which let you see and join lobbies started by members of Steam groups you belong to. The case opens with its own Glove Case Key.

The gloves show on your hands in first person and on your character model for everyone else. For the bigger picture, including the later glove sets and the 2026 Dead Hand gloves, see our CS2 gloves guide.

The 24 gloves

The set covers six types with four finishes each. The names below match both the Counter-Strike Wiki and the game's item files.

Driver GlovesCrimson Weave, Lunar Weave, Diamondback, Convoy

The studded Bloodhound Gloves have only these four finishes. The other five types returned with new finishes in the Clutch Case in 2018, which swapped the Bloodhound type for the Hydra Gloves.

The game files show that one more case shares this exact glove list: the Operation Hydra Case of 2017. Either case can drop the same 24 pairs.

How glove wear works

Gloves take the slot that knives fill in other cases. In the odds Perfect World published in 2017, that rare special item slot comes up in about 0.26% of openings.

Glove finishes don't set their own float range in the item file, so they fall back on the default of 0.06 to 0.80. That squeezes Factory New into the window from 0.06 to 0.07, which is why clean pairs are scarce, and no glove can ever be close to 0.00. Battle-Scarred pairs stop at 0.80. Our float guide explains the wear tiers in general.

There are also no StatTrak gloves. The game files give every gun a StatTrak version but list only a normal version of the glove pool.

The guns

The grades come from the game's loot list, which matches the wiki.

A few float details from the item file: the SSG 08 | Dragonfire and FAMAS | Mecha Industries are both capped at 0.50, the M4A4 | Buzz Kill at 0.70 and the Nova | Gila at 0.30. The M4A1-S | Flashback uses the full range. The wiki adds two pieces of trivia: the green on the CZ75-Auto | Polymer almost never shows on a Factory New copy, and the case's badge is a reworked Operation Breakout logo, a hand holding a lightning bolt.

Where the case stands in CS2

The Glove Case is not in the current weekly drop pool, and neither is the Operation Hydra Case. Community drop trackers have recorded no rare-pool drops since December 2025, as Hotspawn reported that month, and Valve hasn't commented, so the supply of both now only shrinks as they are opened. Since November 27, 2024 you can also open an older case like this one as a rental, which lends you its weapon finishes for a week instead of giving you one item to keep.

The gloves gained another route on October 22, 2025. Valve's change lets five normal Covert skins be traded up into one knife or one pair of gloves from the collection of one of the inputs, so the M4A4 | Buzz Kill and SSG 08 | Dragonfire now lead to these 24 pairs. StatTrak contracts only ever return knives, so they offer no way to these gloves.

When you shop for a pair, judge it in first person if you can, and use the float range filter on Buy to look only at copies near the clean end of their wear tier.
