Valve released two cases in 2015 that each introduced a new knife model. The Falchion Case came with Operation Bloodhound in May, and the Shadow Case followed in September with the Shadow Daggers, a pair of push daggers. Here is what both cases contain, how their knives compare and where they stand in CS2 as of October 2026.
The Falchion Case and Operation Bloodhound
Operation Bloodhound launched on May 26, 2015. Valve's announcement said each Falchion Weapons Case held a chance at one of 16 community-created weapon finishes and at a new knife that "can only be found in this operation exclusive case." The operation page was blunter about the knife itself: "The Falchion is really more of a folding sword than a knife."
The operation also brought six community maps to official matchmaking and introduced profile ranks, with a weapon drop for your first rank-up each week. At launch the case dropped only for Access Pass holders. According to the Counter-Strike Wiki, it became a drop for all players once the operation ended. It opens with its own Falchion Case Key.
The Shadow Case
Valve's post for September 17, 2015, titled "Shadow Boxing", introduced "the Shadow Case, featuring sixteen community designed weapons, along with a chance to contain the all new Shadow Daggers." The daggers are worn one in each hand. Their in-game description sums them up: "using a push dagger is as simple as throwing a punch or two."
The knives
Both knives launched in the same 13 versions as the earlier Huntsman Knife: plain, or in one of the 12 original finishes (Blue Steel, Boreal Forest, Case Hardened, Crimson Web, Fade, Forest DDPAT, Night, Safari Mesh, Scorched, Slaughter, Stained and Urban Masked). Each case has its own rare item list in the game files, so these original-finish Falchions come only from the Falchion Case and the original-finish Shadow Daggers only from the Shadow Case.

The same float caps apply as on the original knives. Fade is limited to 0.00 to 0.08, so it only exists in Factory New and Minimal Wear, and Slaughter stops at 0.26. Both models got the Chroma finishes, such as Doppler and Marble Fade, in the Spectrum cases of 2017, and the wiki notes the Shadow Daggers received Gamma finishes in the Operation Riptide Case in 2021. For how the two feel in hand, see our guide to every knife type.
What each case contains
The grades come from the game's loot lists and match the wiki. Both cases have 16 guns.
Skins worth knowing
AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge and AWP | Hyper Beast. The Falchion Case's two Coverts both use the full 0.00 to 1.00 float range, so they appear in every exterior from Factory New to Battle-Scarred.
MP7 | Nemesis. Capped at 0.32, it has no Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred copies.
Negev | Loudmouth. The opposite case: its range starts at 0.14, so there is no Factory New.
SSG 08 | Big Iron. One of the Shadow Case's three Classifieds, capped at 0.64.
M4A1-S | Golden Coil and USP-S | Kill Confirmed. The Shadow Case's Coverts, one for each of the CT side's silenced weapons. Both run from 0.00 to 1.00.
AK-47 | Frontside Misty. The Shadow Case's AK has a range of 0.02 to 0.87, so even the best copies don't reach a true zero float.

StatTrak and where the cases stand
Every gun and both knives have StatTrak versions, and the game files list a StatTrak copy of each knife pool.
Neither case is in the current weekly drop pool. Community drop trackers have recorded no rare-pool drops since December 2025, as Hotspawn reported that month, and Valve hasn't commented, so both cases now only leave circulation as people open them.
Since October 22, 2025, five Covert skins can be traded up into a knife from the collection of one of them. In practice the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge and AWP | Hyper Beast lead to the Falchion Knife, and the M4A1-S | Golden Coil and USP-S | Kill Confirmed lead to the Shadow Daggers, in their original finishes. Five StatTrak Coverts return a StatTrak knife.
