Cache callouts are simpler than they look in CS2, because the radar and your team mostly use the same names. Valve's 2026 version of the map labels 47 areas, and most carry the names guides used before its release. This guide lists all 47, then the few common names the radar leaves out.
How Cache callouts work in CS2
Every area of a CS2 map has an official place name, shown next to a teammate's name in game and recorded in demos. MapSense, a demo viewer that read the names from 19 Cache demos, counts 47 on Cache. Valve's own files use the same vocabulary: its map guide has smokes for A Main, B Main, Connector, Heaven and Tree, and its Retakes file names spawns Quad, Fork, Toxic, Highway, Hell and Headshot.
Valve released its redesign of FMPONE's version on April 28, 2026, telling veterans they would "feel right at home in familiar locations", as our Cache return article covers.
The Cache layout at a glance
Valve calls Cache "a classic three lane map". On the radar, CT spawn is on the far left and T spawn on the far right. Bombsite A is at the top left, Bombsite B at the bottom left, and mid fills the centre.
CT side callouts
| Area | Callout | Where it is |
|---|---|---|
| CT side | CT Spawn | The CT start on the far left, in a garage |
| CT side | Bus Stop | Radar area just below CT spawn |
| CT side | CT Lane | The CT path from spawn towards Connector |
| CT side | Truck | The truck on the CT path to A, looking into A Main |
| CT side | Connector | The short passage from the CT side into mid |
| CT side | Bear | Radar area between Connector and Heaven |
A site callouts
| Area | Callout | Where it is |
|---|---|---|
| A site | Bombsite A | A parking area at the top left, container in the centre |
| A site | Quad | The big stack of boxes at the back of A |
| A site | Corner | Radar area at the top of A, beside Quad |
| A site | Squeaky | The door from Long A onto the site |
| A site | A Boost | Radar area between Squeaky and A Main |
| A site | Electrical Box | The e-box on A, usually just called E-box |
| A site | Fork Lift | The forklift by A Main, under Balcony |
| A site | Catwalk | Radar area beside Fork Lift |
| A site | Toxic | Radar area at the bottom of A, next to Catwalk |
| A site | Ladder | The ladder from Highway up to Balcony |
| A site | Highway | The long slope from mid up to A |
| A approach | A Main | The T entrance, with one box and an open gate |
| A approach | Lockers | The lockers inside A Main |
| A approach | Long A | The long, bare hallway from the T side |
| A approach | A Halls | The hallway between Long A and Squeaky |
Valve's announcement ended with "Don't forget to clear Forklift", and the Counter-Strike Wiki notes that Squeaky began as a community nickname. Both are now radar names.

Names the radar doesn't show
These familiar names have no radar label, but at least two sources use them:
- Balcony: the raised walkway above Fork Lift, reached by the ladder from Highway.
- White Box: the white box at the mid end of Highway that CTs use to look towards Garage. Valve's guide has a White Box smoke.
- Hell: the open area CTs cross to reach B. Valve's Retakes file has a Hell spawn beside Heaven.
- Green box: a green box beside the e-box on A, per Hotspawn; Valve's Retakes file has a plant spot by a "green crate".
- Dumpster: the small passage between Garage and B Halls.
One name moved. Hotspawn's guide, written a week before the release, put Toxic outside Sun Room. Valve's radar and Retakes file put Toxic at the bottom of A.
Cache in CS2: fixes that touched named spots
Valve's fixes often name the spots they change. The day after launch it adjusted the lighting around Vent, removed a lamp by Squeaky, reworked the e-box on A, lowered the Checkers entrance frame at B Main, removed an AC unit above Sandbags and stopped wall bangs through the A Main wall. In August it removed a boost spot in Outside A. Cache joined Active Duty on July 8, 2026, replacing Overpass, as our Premier Season Five article covers.
