Fracture Case (2020): Desert Eagle Printstream, Legion of Anubis and knives

The Fracture Case arrived on August 6, 2020 with 17 community skins and the Shattered Web knives. Every skin by rarity, the 52 knives, the first Printstream and the case's status in 2026.

The Fracture Case came out in August 2020, four months after the previous case. It brought the Desert Eagle | Printstream, the first of what became a whole family of Printstream skins, alongside the AK-47 | Legion of Anubis and 15 other community designs. Its knives are the four Shattered Web models in their original finishes, the same pool as the Shattered Web Case.

The August 2020 update

Valve released the case with its August 6, 2020 update, titled "On the Case". The post listed networking improvements, updates to the maps Swamp, Mutiny and Anubis, and "an all new weapon case". Valve described the Fracture Collection as "featuring designs from over 17 different community artists, and including the Shattered Web Knives as rare special items". Dexerto reported that the same patch also fixed exploits involving tampered game files.

The previous case, the Prisma 2 Case, had arrived on March 31, and Dexerto's coverage of the Fracture launch described the skin market as having "stagnated a little bit" in between.

Contents by rarity

The Counter-Strike Wiki and the game's item data list the same 17 skins.

Rare special item (gold)52Nomad, Paracord, Skeleton and Survival knives, 13 versions each

Every gun skin and every knife in the case can also come as StatTrak, the version that counts the owner's kills.

Most of the cheaper skins use the full 0.00 to 1.00 float range, but a few are capped. The P250 | Cassette stops at 0.60, the SG 553 | Ol' Rusty at 0.70, and the Galil AR | Connexion and MP5-SD | Kitbash at 0.80, so none of them reaches the most worn end of Battle-Scarred. Our float guide explains how the wear tiers are cut.

The Shattered Web knives

The Nomad, Paracord, Skeleton and Survival knives debuted in November 2019 in the Shattered Web Case, released with the operation of the same name. The Fracture Case reused that pool without changes, which made it the second case to offer the four models.

Each knife comes in 13 versions: the plain blade plus 12 classic finishes. The pattern finishes (Case Hardened, Crimson Web, Fade and Slaughter) vary with the paint seed. The rest are camouflage patterns such as Boreal Forest, Forest DDPAT, Night Stripe, Safari Mesh, Scorched and Urban Masked, plus the treated steels Blue Steel and Stained.

The same four models only received Chroma finishes such as Doppler in March 2025, through the Fever Case, which our Fever Case update article covers. For how the Skeleton, Nomad and the others differ in shape and animation, see our knife guide.

Standout skins

Desert Eagle | Printstream. The Fracture Deagle was the first Printstream skin. Later cases added more under the same name: the M4A1-S | Printstream in the Operation Broken Fang Case that December, the USP-S | Printstream in the Recoil Case of 2022 and the AWP | Printstream in the Fever Case of 2025. Dexerto described the original as a selection of shapes on the barrel over a clean metallic finish. Its float runs from 0.00 to 0.80.

AK-47 | Legion of Anubis. The second Covert, in Dexerto's words, features the Egyptian god "sprawled across the body of the gun", a fitting theme for an update that also patched the map Anubis. It is capped at 0.70.

The Classified tier. The M4A4 | Tooth Fairy has a gory design, the Glock-18 | Vogue pairs a fade with a large set of eyes, and the XM1014 | Entombed is capped at 0.50.

Named artists. Valve's own Dreams & Nightmares contest page, published in 2021, used two Fracture skins as examples of Workshop art: it credits the MAG-7 | Monster Call to GENT and the MAC-10 | Allure to WhoisVac9.

Where the Fracture Case stands in 2026

The Fracture Case no longer drops. Techaeris found that by January 2026 the weekly pool held just five containers (the Genesis Terminal and the Kilowatt, Revolution, Recoil and Dreams & Nightmares cases), and Hotspawn reported that the separate rare drop pool for older cases had gone silent in December 2025 without any word from Valve. Drop trackers still listed the Fracture Case as discontinued in October 2026, so the unopened supply only goes down from here.

Two other routes to its contents remain. Since October 2025, a trade-up contract of five Covert skins can return a knife from the collection of one of the inputs, as our Covert trade-up article explains. And you can always buy the skin outright: the Printstream family is easy to compare on Buy using the weapon, wear and float range filters.
